A few pebbles
An Indian epic
voluminous and thick
with eighteen thousand verses
laden with divine discourses
accompanying many an illustration
to influence every human
centering around eighteen days of battle
when virtue and vice did bitterly struggle
in presence of the Lord on the incarnation
in a role of a man. common
with deeds as of chariot driver
on the virtue side the main worrier.
Through His role, to mankind all
He preached “{ How not to fall
from the path of virtue
with thoughts words, deeds true
to save man from degradation
from the trait of the divine to the demon
His role as a man common
meant for man as illustration.
Besides Gita. the great deliberation
to make man achieve perfection
many a philosophy to aid human life
to save a man from strain and strife
was discoursed on this incarnation
by Lord as a man for man common
to inspire and influence them
as from a man like them, those came
Some I venture here to touch upon
from vast sands on the beach of an ocean
only a fist-full of sands as pearls for you
where all sands are pearls in my view
“Pray, stop the war to save us”
to the praying bird, Lord replied thus
“ No nothing can be done
whatever is destined will happen”
Then he shot an arrow
from Arjun which he did borrow
Shooted at an elephant’s bell
over the family of the bird, it fell
protecting them from destruction
all the time till the Virtue had won
“ To Arjun’s prayer for a line to chime
befitting to both pain and pleasure time
“ This time will fleet, be it pleasure or pain
be cool calm in both without strain”
As Krishna, the Lord became a chariot driver,
to exemplify no job is superior or inferior.
By staying by the side of virtue and piety
“Be virtuous” Lord showed to society.
( N. B- Mahabharat is the greatest epic of Indian philosophy. Krishna is the incarnation pf Lord in human form to be approachable by man whom He wanted to teach divine lessons. The theme above is some pebbles in the ocean of philosophical discourse)
