A G J Reflection
At our alma-mater
on entry as a fresher
bothered we seldom
the background, one came form
as a precondition to friendship
and that no difference could clip
in the course of our five years’ stay
those memories we cherish today
laughing away at omissions and commissions
friends committed under funny compulsions
but now we listen to those teenagers whisper
“Hey, Elders! Remove from your wisdom the blur
the buildups of jealousy, attachment, and ego
at the time when you wait for the call to go.”
Call it as dame destiny’s play
or of hard labor, you may say
some has prosperity every way
some struggled bitterly to stay.
Some cling to their family tree
Engrossed on it, they are never free
to think of themselves for the final exit
with loneliness, psyche disorder none to assist.
Their own beings busy in their bread and butter
staying far off places, for the tree to prosper
and the youngest member of his family tree
has outgrown his grandkid stature to be free.
The oldest leaf has to wither now
new leaf takes over as is His show.
Thus some of us are yet to feel
being infatuated by the spell of family thrill.
Transitory and illusory are they
for the peace of love away must, we stay
or it will add miseries to old agers’ pain
Burdening own kith and kin will be a bane.
Illustrations are numerous
Hope friends will avoid the fuss.
To break old age monotony,
to cheer up in the agony
the best is a friend’s laughter
and his calls, he is licensed for.
The nectar of friendship they call.
the process of aging with age it will stall.
The psyche ailments certainly fear
when teenage days’ friends are near.
On some pretext or the other
friends with spouses gather
taking all to their hey days
pains of old age are lost in haze
All are now par at this parting age.
Our Golden Jubilee celebration
to remind us our teen age’s vibration
with our spouses at our alma-mater
will certainly rejuvenate us sure
Hey friends! Shackles we must break
to join G J for friends’ and own sake.
Gratitude to our alma-matter
together with spouses, we must offer.
With love we will kiss her dust
pray her glory in chorus we must.
While sharing with spouses our golden days
frame we must jointly our plan of old age
to live in joy keeping pangs, pains at bay
renewing with friends our teenagers’ tie.

(We were 211 when we passed out from Our Alma-mater in 1970 R EC Rourkela India. for our golden jubilee ceremony we are getting cold shoulder response (Only sixty). This naïve friend has made out some unreasonable reasons. His appeal to all friends to join ignoring all obstacles and make it a grand Success)
