Philosophical attitudes
differ in magnitude
in establishing the divine love
between devotees and the God above.
The relationships may differ,
as with mother or father,
or as with son or daughter,
or as with brother or sister,
or as with slave or master,
or as with friend or teacher,
or as with consort or companion,
or as with an artist owning its art with passion,
or as with a lover or a beloved.
let us spell out the best way to love God?
While contemplating and conceiving
one’s devotion for Him, the super being,
one should have some relationship in mind and heart
to cultivate a feeling as a mortal man without deviating apart.
Hindu scripture
is unequivocally clear
to love God
as one’s own beloved
calling Him with many sweet names
remembering him in heart with uninterrupted passions and flames
while shouldering house hold burden,
or in any assignment one is engaged upon.
This course would be easier.
The result will be dearer and the feeling sweeter.
God Himself shall become the lover
and we the beloved forever.
