Man inherits

Air, water, fire, earth and ether

frame a human body and it also they nurture.

Each of them nonstop serves the creation

from man to microorganism they differentiate none.

Man being an offspring of these elements

inherits logically their traits in abundance.

Man with blessed mind power blended with intellect

on his connection with them must deeply introspect.

To become part of something bigger man must look at the droplet of water

moving beyond individual ego the minute droplet joins sea to become bigger.

Look at the distant horizon where the sky bends with humble submission

as if telling the man to cast off his ego as with ego, far can walk none

Without ego fire blows out at a child’s puff and lies latent even in a dry wood,

burns a corpse, warms a foot but its great power can never be misunderstood.

The humility of air speaks of its egolessness when it embraces filthy matter

carries its foul smell bothering least for ego to get a jeer or a cheer.

The earth has no ego as over it a man tramples with his foot and boot

tears it for his food and wealth for living, never does it hoot.

Numerous are their such attributes for man to reflect upon

and to practice them to live in peace and bliss in symphony with creation.
