Mandela - a tribute
P K Routray
Men is made to differ
because of difference in color
“No” rebelled Mandela Nelson,
faced the worst of time in the prison
for twenty seven years long spell
in a seven feet to eight feet cell.
From a leader of a bus strike
tasting success against a fare hike
to lead the battle for anti-apartheid mission
with success, reaching his goal and destination,
from a terrorist put in prison to Nobel peace prize
his devotion for his goal was behind the phenomenal rise.
From a watch man of a mines to president of a country
a long way Mandela had travelled on the way thorns in plenty.
With honor as south Africa’s first black president
tasted he the worst sufferings to the highest honor with head bent.
Once he had to hide himself as a chauffeur for the success of his mission
but the well wishes of all saw him crowned as president to drive a nation.
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela is no more since fifth of December
to bid his mortal body adieu heads of seventy countries will gather,
the rarest honor a black watch man and a hiding chauffeur would get
we pray such noble soul for a well deserved peaceful rest.
With such trial tribulations of life he could live for ninety five years
It is sure that he was sent to serve His creation as one of the God’s loving messengers .
