A meager Toy
P K Routray
Warning too feeble
Cells, candles, matchsticks
bread, butter, milk
essential commodities
out of stock from market
kept in in freezes in frenzy
to battle with futility against the sandy.
The man’s acumen too weak
the nature frowns and wins
Vampires, ghosts and ghouls
all together before Halloween
children in frightening horror
trick-or-treat, even no murmur.
Babies in freezing temperature
crying with praying mother,
old, disabled and diseased
thirsty, hungry , unable to cope nature’s calls
a pathetic sight
at the scientific height
begging His mercy.
Rich or poor, strong or weak
Powerful or meek
all are ground together
hand in hand, soul with soul
under cooperative slaughter.
Trees, birds and animals
all frightened and shocked
waiting for the final dissolution.
Tall hefty trees kissing the ground
with elasticity of rubber
with lightening, wind and thunder.
Electric transformers acting
as bombs and crackers
The runways and roads under water
Net, internet communication in disorder
Nuclear reactors in generating plants under water
on the verge of destruction
threatening mankind with radiation.
Tsunami, tornado or super cyclone,
vulcan or earthquakes
the nature’s furry keeps the creation at stake
The man is yet to fathom
to weaken it and overcome.
Pride of achievement and wisdom
ground to dust with The Sandy’s venom.
The nature at its sweet will
toys with man of ingenuity and intellect
at his whim and fancy.
