OUR FUTURE
P K Routray
Edited by P. Gaan
Let us ponder over what will be our future?
How will be our descendants after five centuries and ten centuries later?
A sweet dream and a bad dream comes nagging
Some pleasing and some horrible scenes do come hugging.
With advancement of science everything will be automatic,
After a thousand years our limbs will have no work, it is a fact basic.
Without work it is told that our tails have gone,
In future our idle limbs will not exist or only will be meant to adornas vestigial organ.
Only head will be there as the master and limbs must have thinned down and looked like wires,
Everything will be on toes and will be done as per master’s desires;
Science and management give no value for emotion,
Hence feelings will not exist for required efficiency in production.
This may come after several years not very far from present,
We can forecast based on these end point.
The way trees are cut and forest destroyed ,
No tree and no animal can exist, they might soon be annihilated.
We have doubt whether science can find for oxygen alternative resources
Let us hope for the best that it will create many substitutes for the animal kingdom including Homo sapiens.
Energy sources will run out of stock in near future
Let us hope best for our capability to sustain us from this critical danger
Initial battles of mankind might have been fought with stones and sticks,
Future the war will be through only intellect and the computer chips.
If you see the dress and weapons exhibited in museum, they show the strength of man of recent past as awesome.
With this logic behind our future generation cannot carry themselves even computer chips,
Hence wars will be between intellectual tricks.
Offspring will come out with mere wishives ,
AS visualized by the birth of thousand children from hundred wives by Indian mythological writings .
Spoken dialects will disappear,
Love from one to other will not be there, which we have to bear.
Emotions and sentiments will be dispensed,
Trees and animals will not certainly be sustained.
Intellect might exist alone,
But wisdom must have gone.
All will be nothing but stones,
This can be our future predictions.
Keeping them in mind let us go for interpolation,
After five hundred years hence, what will be our generation?
In twenty fifth century, society will not exist,
Natural forest with its beauty will not be there to assist.
Man will have no physical labor,
Everything will be at beck and call with computer.
New diseases with strange fury of calamities will come,
Human race will face extinction as his intellect can hardly counter their fathom.
We fail to imagine the status of the thirtieth century,
Nobody will be there to sing our and greed and invention glory.
