As per Hindu scriptures soul only wears the body like a temporary garment,
hence the pain to the body is not to the soul which is bliss permanent.
If you think this with deep contemplation,
you feel pain is meant for some other earthly mortal and is not your own.
you are a soul a part of super soul,
you act in different roles on the illusory stage but merger with Him is your ultimate goal.
Hence if Jack’s hand is cut, Jack the mortal may get pain,
but the soul of Jack the bliss permanent may go out of the body look at the mortal Jack without any strain.
Pain is also relative term and varies as per practice, tolerance,
and experience with degree of compulsion of acceptance,
A man from hot country cries even at the fine weather in a cold country,
Limit of tolerance also raises coping with situation, which you must agree.
The pain, apprehension of deadly diseases like cancer
are nothing to the soul,
as it is not the body but is in the illusory and temporary role.
