A Real Feeling
P K Routay
At present the hot humid Indian summer
from morning seven it becomes unbearably severe
Unless under pressure to meet hard obligation
to come out of shade or cooler place prefers none.
A rare few with affordability of air-condition comfort
others stay under shed with air humid and hot
adding to it the interruption of electric power
one has to stay with murmur for many an hour.
We pray and count the days for the summer furry to be over
with welcome rain to come with its pleasing thunder and shower.
Fifty years back I clearly remember
the heat and humidity were not so severe.
With no electricity but many foliages in my village
with hand fan we wer able to sleep and manage.
Now I am too afraid to express my future apprehension
after fidty years what will be then the summer condition.
With dwindling energy how will they survive in future?
Thus is from my first hand experience I nurture.
