A Regret
A visit
to exhibit
our goodwill
to instill
confidence
the essence
to rejuvenate
an ailing classmate
with battered emotion
is a courtesy common
Such visits, we never miss
our heyday, we reminisce.
often doctors also permit
to lit his patient’s spirit.
Contagion or infection
never blocked such union
As and when friends suffer
from cold cough and fever
to him nothing looks right
friends’ presence makes it light
To boost his morale recovery
Friends make fun and mockery
that lightens his tensions
on diagnostic apprehensions
Umpteen such occasions
we pals enjoyed unions
thus life for us had so far run
more than seventy years of fun
Alas! Such a visit of goodwill
with all its warmth and thrill
over an hour or so
with two hearts’ show
friendship was on full blast
over six decades of glorious past
their love and hate story
with a hilarious minute recovery
moments envied heavenly beings
on earthly man it is His blessings
wishing to meet over an early treat
cut short unwillingly then I, my meet.
on the corridor
met his son elder
remorse soaked
throat choked
to tell the report
as a thunder bolt
disease has spred
reports thus read.
with the wails of his son
with heart broken head spun
a tallish man I searched in vain
shall I return to him again
will it not raise his doubt
his heart his losing thre bout?
on the spur of the moment
cherish9ing the time spent
left I with pinching regret
drowned in friendship debt.
A haunt’ me it will never quit
an d a regret daily in me repeats
