Tolerance
P K Routray
At a mango on its tree
being ripe swinging free
if a stone is hurled at it
the mango falls and blesses even the culprit
with its sweetness and taste
here the forbearance is glorified and graced.
A flower is plucked and scrabbled,
Crushed and trampled,
littered at doer’s whim and frenzy,
but it spreads its fragrance even to the perpetrator the crazy.
Such is the magnanimity of the flower,
too little will be any amount of praise, on it we intend to shower.
