A tree - the Wonder
With round stem stands a tree
till its top, branches free
seen in a common, erect strait
unless compulsions create
zigzag or bent of them, a few
to make them look skew
from mates in the grove around
shadowing the roots at the ground.
with ribbed leaves hanging long.
swinging when atop wind is strong
Flesh and juice under the shell, hard
covered by thick hairy skin to guard
well- hidden under its hard shell
Well-guarding from any foul spell
hanging in bunch at the top
hunger thirst the beauties prop
providing the bread and the butter
to quench thirst and hunger
coconut green or dry for us
the contents always are nectarous.
To go up and climb to its top to crop
to enjoy the art passersby stop
to enjoy the art of climbing art and crafts
Indeed! the climbers are acclaimed, smart.
Its green leaves provide bed, cool
its nut-shells aid kitchen tool
Accepted it as tree and fruit wonder
by Alexander the world conquerer
when the tre could serve his soldier
who were sick hungry and thirsty
Alexander took these trees’ benign safety
getting its service of bread and butter
“Only a trr providing him bread and butter.”

lovely poem! I did not know
lovely poem! I did not know about Alexander the Great admiring them. Also I liked very much how you describe people stopping to watch the art of climbing to the top to get coconuts
