Ancient India had many a kingdom
A king used to rule a state with his own freedom
Abundantly were available the natural resources
Many of them were maintaining their lives in luxury and opulence
India knew the tricks of trading and sailing
Wealth from various parts of the world were accumulating
All the kings had many ministers and many a general,
To advise the king and to protect the kingdoms from attack external.
Many kings had varieties of courtiers
To help the king and queen for the royal chores
The king of our poem wanted to have a new minister
To impart his court with a new dimension and decor
With much search and feed backs, a candidate he appointed
With his hard work and sincerity the king’s confidence he gained
The minister was wise and knowledgeable
To all others in the court, he was the most enviable
The new minister used to solve all problems of the state
The King remained free and engaged only for enjoyments
To boost the King’s ego, many composed and chanted poems in his praise
To prosper in wealth and to remain close to him always
At every opportunity they put words of poison in the king’s ear,
In course of time, to succeed in arousing king’s suspicion against the minister
But the king could not find in his works any deviation,
He still found him worthy of post and did not think of any alteration
One day the king’s finger got cut during hunting,
Many from far and near came running and panting
Sycophants sang the songs of pathos blaming the fate unseen,
Overwhelmed by the concerns and praise, the king’s pain lost its sign,
The king anticipated from the minister a word of sympathy and consolation,
But to his shock and dismay the minister remarked as it was god’s decision.
The King lost his temper and put him in prison
Asked his flatterers to find the punishment for his conduct beyond reason
The King was fond of hunting in forest
To prove his strength and velour he takes with him only a minister at best
This time he went alone to the forest
While running after a deer, return path, he could not locate
In search of way out he entered into the dense part,
By Some esoteric practitioners he was caught.
They had to sacrifice a healthy man
To feed the blood of his cut-head to the deity demon
The chief priest came and noticed the cut mark on king’s finger
He rejected the the king as somebody flowers was to be sacrificed at the deity’s alter.
The King was amazed seeing his escape miraculous
He thanked God and the minister for the event auspicious.
When back to his capital he sat the minister free,
With profuse apology, asked his service he.
What he causes to happen is for the ultimate good for man, said the minister,
As the King’s cut finger has shown.
But what about the innocent minister’s suffering in prison?
Had he not been put behind bars for treason?
He would have accompanied the king for certain,
His body being flowers his neck would have been cut open.
Every incident occurs on the earth as per destiny,
Everything happens for good to keep His creation in harmony.
If you look back and recollect the past happenings in your life
You will realize things have been for you good so that you survive
Always out of envy and greed, we dream for more from destiny
But certainly it will cause envy of others and create acrimony.
We dream of accumulating for self, all the bests, the others posses.
We forget that the together are have to exist without hampering the divine process.
