Many Mansions
By poetjude
- 1729 reads
There are many mansions in the Father's house
Carved out to contain
Compassion.
Sometimes I feel
It was all too big to stay, your love
Pulsing out of proportion
Over a weary world, to
Doppler away.
Somehow I always knew
You were going home.
Realised my place was
To stay.
There are many mansions in our Father's house
I wonder why yours seems like light years away.
The dark earth covers
Because you have gone ahead
Leaving us behind
To carry on and find
What is buried in strange fields.
The Lord of hosts has prepared
A banquet.
Your place at the table is set.
Worry not for the hunger of children.
The rooms that remain are not bereft.
Tables creak beneath good things.
We've not been left creatively cold,
Aloof.
There are many mansions in our Father's house
Waiting in turn, I've a dream to secure
I remember light years turning in
The infinite skies amongs the fiery light
Only feels far away tonight.
