The Statue of Liberty drips into New York harbour
Blood tears, like
Marble Madonna of miracles.
Yawning smoke gap
Stands, a splinter in the skyscraped skyline,
The dragon's fire breath cast
Death
And now the world is still and
Screaming ceases, to ebb -
A horror unspoken.
Fear phones, my phobia's transcended
Call Richie
Lines are dead and dread that seeps the heart,
Sweeps the life away from face, to core spills,
Chills.
We hear from his cell phone,
A lonely cell voice
To say
"I'm okay"
Pain you see, Isn't me
My friends and family
I need,
Didn't bleed
Amid a shadowed wasteland
No God
Where the air
Fills with charred, shredded
Paper.
Flakes, fragments, memories of a world
Mailed by the warm bomb breeze to
The azure sky.
