Paper Gymnasts

Do you remember
the cherry blossom
scattered on the bedroom floor.
Lipstick slogans
painted red against the sallow
of your skin.
A kiss
that slips offering from your lips.
Your texture unlined
sculptured gently, held tightly
within my hungry fingertips.
Confetti
like delicate paper gymnasts
tumbling lazily
me closing my eyes -
aware that my
thoughts move not as they did.
Tomorrow
I shall pick the blackberries
today, was simply for saying
'I do'!

Very gentle and thoughtful

Very gentle and thoughtful piece, PoppyS. Question poems like this always remind me of a kind of Irish talking blues by singer Ronnie Drew. Wonderful. The final lines leave lingering thoughts. I like it.
