The compromised earth

Mother earth has her history bound up in a promise
A promise laced with the elixir of life
A promise of hope for the future
Where now decay resides beneath the setting sun
I walk this earth as a stranger
Foreign lands have eternal meaning to me
I walk this earth as a foreigner
Strange places to be explored and seen
This universe is in constant transition
From present tense to future paradise
Beyond the stars and galaxies
God is planning to exalt his new estate
His hands weave his creation
Time to Him is eternal and meaningless,
In the same breath
With his hands he holds mother earth
With his breath he breathed
a living flame into being
Angels climb the steps of Jacob’s ladder
Whilst man erects his tottering babble tower
Translating messages from the righteous
Whilst pagans confuse issues with distorted tongues
Michael fought the serpent dragon
Heaven witnessed corruption from what was once pure
A third of the angels put on demon faces
And were thrown down with the arch deceiver himself
The war in heaven brought about because of jealousy
The battle won by the word of truth
The wars on earth fought because of enmity
Of the life giving truth heralded by God’s bride
Things on this earth are at a kilter
Enough to believe the cosmos is raging against mankind
The solar system is crying death
Still we refuse to petition God with our prayers
Before the sin from temptation
We had nothing but hanging gardens
Peace and tranquil air
Now we have succumbed to the devil whispers,
Deforestation, pollution
And tribal sanctioned warfares
This world, is spinning into oblivion
Because man has lost the will to care
But God holds the remnant in his hands
Like a mother holds her first born dear
When his throne descends from the heavens
And sits gloriously in the east, like the rising sun
The earth will shed her natural skin
And put on eternal beauty as a constant theme
For many life has lost its meaning
As humanity falls to Satan’s subtle, kiss
Sin looks and feels so delicious
Edible delicacies from the devil’s carnal dish
A feast for a poorper or a nibble for a king
Temptations finest ingredient
Are its allurement and its urge from within
The lust of the eye and the pride of life
Conflict with our inner souls
The desire of the flesh and promised satisfaction
When fulfilled leaves us feeling cold
The love of many is wanting
The morals descent is archaic
As the world is old
Mother earth has her history bound up in a promise
A promise which is laced with the elixir of life
A promise of hope for the future
Where now decay resides beneath the setting sun
