Is That Even Allowed?

Brought in a ringer allowable. Saturday was Foggie Farmer’s Market. Thought, ‘no spend, no go’. Then thought, it’ll be all Hallowe’en-y, there are only so many markets left before they stop for the winter and there are only so many Hallowe’ens left too. While I loathe that thought, it’s the universal truth.
No spend sucks, but should it mean choosing to stay home on a sunny Hallowe’en-y morning before some absolutely-not-going-out stormy days? Apparently not. At least this time, I thought the impulse through. I believe that is what is called ‘a breakthrough’.
Or addiction denial.
History will decide.
Anyway, in the calm before the storm, went to market. The ringer was a fiver and some coins that I had in my purse.
This choice did make me think about why I enjoy going to Foggie market. (Apart from pastries). There’s a market, including pastries, in a different town most weekends, what is it about Foggie? I love that ‘Saturday morning’ feeling. Absolutely love the drive there. It’s not too far away, am usually there, pastried-up and home within forty minutes. It’s a beautiful drive most times of year, but especially now that the leaves are turning. I enjoy cottage-spotting, obviously have a ‘top three’ list. There’s sort-of-joining-in. Can’t say am a great joiner-inner, am not, and have to leave when the guy with the amp starts. Most of all, I love that it is in a tiny village, completely out in the rolling countryside. No superstores or anything else to distract. It is a sole purpose trip. I never stay long, rarely spend even a tenner, then back home for breakfast (fig and prosciutto pastry).
So, chose to go to the Hallowe’en market at Foggie, and as I had the car, stopped for an allowable pumpkin on the way.
