‘Seasalt’ sale has 50% off. Shouldn’t have looked. Not even a peek. I thought I could handle it. Where’s the harm chancing a glance? Just one little glimpse. I had to know! Alas, with a swish, a flurry, and a chink of change, released all the Bargainistas of the world.
But here’s ‘Hope’.
Didn’t spend. (Although there is a 100% ‘yet’ bubbling just under that surface). Not from any strength of will. More from dismay at seeing more trickster marketing ways.
The biggest % off was 39, not 50. At Seasalt prices, that’s still at least a week of no spend grocery budget, but that’s not the point. Debit card was further stayed by Seasalt’s new season catalogue - which came by snail mail - £90 for a jersey dress. Don’t even start me on the coats. I don’t understand why clothing made from recycled wool is so expensive. It’s just somebody’s old socks.
To quote the blessed ‘Who’, “We won’t get fooled again”.
Although, probably will, but hopefully not until the next sale.
Emma Bridgewater put a 50% spell on their beguiling gingerbread house Hallowe’en goodies. I looked. I nibbled. Clicking three items, before clicking ‘remove’, quicker than Gretel could push a witch into an oven.
Markies now have my autumn essentials apparently, but am powerless to do anything about it. (They must have sneaked in when the kitchen door was open. Wicked elves).
Spinning out, faster than Rumpelstiltskin’s spinning wheel spun gold.
Decree Nicely: goddess Frugalina has decreed that, henceforth, all marketing trickster ways, incentives and offers shall be collectively referred to as toffery-crispery.
Currently, goddess Frugalina is busy burning offerings up to the god, Traduceous, that he might intervene against goddesses being sued.
And to the goddess, Bargainita, that not-quite-50%-off dress is still available come November.
Hopeless.

Oh no, I may have to brave the many headed guardian of my small christmas savings pot (Cerberthem), I bought Young MB's Big Coat in Seasalts 75% off sale last year.
