In among the browning pears
and teabags drowned in colonies
of mugs, I make my nest.
Muffling the mordant sun
the kindly hum of giants' music
slows the day's arrest.
Underneath the windowledge
the sea-sore student tribes ascend
those ever-steeper steps
and I remember clambering
in grinning knots towards the top
alone but for the rest.
Self-indulgent, self-obsessed
we co-collided
never co-possessed.

I have such a vivid picture of this - those first two verses are so wonderfully descriptive. The rest of the poem speaks of reflection and memory, I imagine a wry smile. This one really struck a chord.

A very expressive poem with
A very expressive poem with an eye-catching title and interpolated with subtle puns and word play.
Flowing and rhythmic verses and an excellent final stanza. I liked it.
Best, Luigi,
