Maghda.

Maghda
Flies in one unbroken line for so is said,
She knows the living from the dead.
Casts one wing in supplication, for
So is known from each nation,
The line of Cordivei.
One she would love but does not trust,
From the dawn of time he belies
All the truth of a thousand lies
Bleeding flesh from bone ,
Her traitorous mate.
Yet still she hopes, for her kin cannot die
Lest the ever-darkening sky
Leeches truth and hope
And in one last stance
Can only breath “Goodbye”.
In true flight she can only see what must prevail
The lesser and the old one to trail
The darkness of the sea and
Swooping low the spirit of
The Holy One.
Her life is forfeited, yet she smiles,
For in her sacrifice her kin will
Fly forever until the sea and
The land is at peace for
The last time.
Her name will fly on the wind, Maghda,
Never mated, but became the mother of
Each and everyone, the lost and the lonely,
The one and only mother of every eagle
That ever flew straight and true.
