My Cyber-Space Friend.

Talk about coincidence and think about that fate,
How I came to meet you
When it was too late?
If I'd never used the Internet, never joined a site,
Would I still be half-empty?
Knowing it wasn't right?
Would I have ever been content, missing my other half?
When you think about it
Isn't it an ironic laugh?
That cyber-space should play a part in bringing us together,
Have you ever thought about?
If it had been never?
Not to know that on this earth there would be another,
An echo of my spirit
A lost potential brother?
But we have met and shared some times granted to a few
And knowing of this feeling
Has it changed our point of view?
That maybe there's a soul mate waiting just to meet,
We could have passed each other,
Walking down the street?
Or perhaps I read too much in it, I cannot make you say
If you feel companionship
Or feel another way?
That in another life we could have been a pair,
All our deepest feelings
Together we could share?
So I must take the little that is offered up to me,
Just a bit part in your life
Never once to be.
All that I could wish and more a place in your own heart,
A friend to share your troubles,
Someone that plays a part.
But if my role is just a friend, then let it just be so,
And of the deeper feelings
I hope you never know.
To lose you now would be far more than I could ever stand
So take my friendship and my heart
You hold it your hand.
