Daddy Long Legs
There was a singular man
who walked tall around our
Basildon town in an open
necked shirt, a comb in his
top left pocket. Shiny shoes.
The boys didn’t like him —
called him a ‘greasy spick’.
One autumn night I heard
him play Coltrane in the park.
That’s when the path was lit.

For me an excellent poem
For me an excellent poem Ralph. I liked the how it led to the final line, a case of less can be far more.
