They showed her on STV

The pregnant prisoner

The mother soon to be

Taken from Cornton Vale Women's Prison

In Bridge of Allan

 

Cuffed, manacled to a female prison officer

Wheeled on the trolley

To the birthing suite

In Stirling Infirmary.

Her name was Arlene.

 

But did you see

Her cheeky radiant grin

To herself

To the camera

To the whole wide world

To her bairn soon to be.

'That's me' she said

'That's me!.'

sounds true. I wrote a whole novel on that theme.

Did you put any of your novel on Abctales., CM? I seem to remember something.

I have read that novel of CM's - excellent it is. I ilke the way this unfolds into a story within a poem. I detect that you have a soft spot for Stirling. Enjoyed. Paul

there used to be a camera thing above the door into the chemist, and my son would want to go in and out lots of times :0) And children (even sometimes grown ups) would stick their arms or legs out while waiting in the queue, just to see them do it on the camera in the ceiling corner. Like being on telly. That was before everyone had camera phones. It is sad that most cameras are not there to catch the good. Having a child is an amazing thing, but no cameras there to celebrate her holding her baby, no cameras there to celebrate any of her achievements before or after, only to check she doesn't try to step out of line
