Awakening!

Stark, dry brown trees and hedges:
a warm green blush spreads,
gradually suffuses –
astonishing expanding leaves
unfold, push, squirt
from tiny lumps upon the twigs
that seemed so small, tight shut, inert,
and down below soft, brilliant yellow
of velvet woken trumpets
reflect the sunbeams back,
and brighten up our journey.

You've described and captured
You've described and captured the beauty of another trip out so vividly, I felt I was there with you Rhiannon.
Goes so well with the photo too.

Oh, Rhiannon,
Oh, Rhiannon,
This was such a poetic description of Spring. As I read it I thought of the buds on the roses I'd just pruned and the daffodils pushing their way up and the trees gradually becoming green.
I'm so glad you are still writing although when I do come on here I always look to see if Tina is posting again too. Sadly no.
