A Big Idea (IP)

It had its inception
in self-deception,
but self-conceit
wouldn’t concede defeat,
mistake,
from assumptions fake.
Shame feared to admit,
the heart commit
to change of course,
though it save from worse.
Why not be honest with yourself?
Truth don’t suppress,
– though it cause distress,
that pain will be less
than the pursuit of precarious,
tragic and ludicrous,
impossible dreams,
frangible schemes.
God give us strength
for integrity, honesty
to acknowledge we’re wrong
before too long:
relief, not grief.

Hi Rhiannon.
Hi Rhiannon.
This gets the message across with a punch to the beat. I feel would make it a good performance piece.
Enjoyed!

Hello Rhiannon,
Hello Rhiannon,
I thought this a clever poem as so many of yours often are particularly in answer to a given I.P.
Much enjoyed
Moya.
