A cross to crucify
– revolting way
in agony to die
– infamous day?

An innocent condemned
– God let it be
so sinners could be spared
– like you and me.

Salvation thus complete
– an empty cross;
no need for a repeat
– good day for us.

If you this grace receive,
best Friday this;
repent, his Words believe
– don’t miss his kiss.

Yes, indeed, Elsie, and I hope you have a happy Easter too.

I am reminded of Jesus saying, 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (or, 'more abundantly' as the older translation puts it)' – and 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink'.
