Not ‘Jesus and …’

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
He fully paid the price –
our contribution nought:
His sufferings suffice–
his crucifixion bought
full pardon, mercy, blessing,
eternal life possessing.
We love his law, desire
to grow in our obedience
but all our zeal and fire,
is not part of what saves us,
but flows from Life received
the day we first believed.
And when we stray and wander,
we must return, contrite,
accept his grace with wonder –
our prayers are his delight:
keep with him, onward pressing,
our Saviour Christ confessing.

Amazing Grace.
How sweet that sounds. Three nails across, His blood, what a cost. Encouragement!
