G: Rhombus Forgets

Rhombus forgets
Rhombus strides through the glowing ashes
where once a house stood.
Walls tumbled in the intense heat
of his belatedly summoned passion
turning to dust that now floats about him
obscuring the sunlight
that fails to light his eyes
Each footfall collapses an ash-built form;
a memory of a chair
an outline of a door
disintegrating with a soundless breath
as his feet shake the burnt out land
still smoking.
Crumbled walls outline the house
forming a face staring overhead
as Rhombus spreads the scar of his passage
from groaning mouth to staring eye
through wall and room
of bed and bath,
a single tear in the house/face form
cutting a swathe through his tormentor's visage
trampling him underfoot
Above,
the raven soars seeking carrion
watching his steady progress,
erasing the face of the house.
