Love is Forever
when I look at my sister visiting me from Hamilton, Ontario and I am very happy. She has had more than a few challenges through the paths of life and some trails not so nice. Along with her on this long trip to Truro, Nova Scotia, her son. He is so handsome and I am sure sorely missed by his partner back home. Where did he get his kind ways; from his mom -- my sister -- or dad separated from family many years ago?
Surely from both.
And I see my wife, with fresh eyes each morning as I alert myself to the beginning of each am. As she gazes at me, I can feel her heart, the flow of blood in her veins, cute ears tucked beneath an overflowing of hair -- much more than I have to show these almost 74 years. I can also read her mind and sense the caring, the love and the concern she still has for me, still pure and original after 41 years of marriage.
I close my eyes for a few moments and can barely murmur, "Thank you Lord Jesus" for this moment, for these years, now and forever.
