Magic & Delight (at twilight)
By Richard L. Provencher
- 794 reads
Like a cauldron
of soup in an oversized
bowl its inside roils
and boils scents of
pine and grassy howls
tumbling across the evergreens
orange and yellow tufts of
sunshine girdle the pot
and my eyes enlarge
with envy
my lips unable to express
its beauty.
As I ponder I surrender
to its magic spell
filters from the sky
through growling clouds
and mountain shadow
my soul at rest
unable to pierce the port
of this great delight
and I kneel
in wonder
at a miraculous sight.
Note: On November 4, 2020 my
wife and I experienced the most
beautiful sunset ever seen as twilight
turned to minus light in Truro,
Nova Scotia and I just had to write.

YOu've caught something of the wonder and delight of that transient experience. Rhiannon
