Mothers

Mothers

provide a nest of love

for the part of them

who became a boy or girl.

First, cries of joy

life --

a new world in which

to grow

to be nurtured,

to live a memoir of love

watched by mama

absorbing the growth

of babe to teen then adult.

Years later, this same     

mother lays in bed

reflecting upon

those years,

with a love that never ends.
