Perceived Beauty

In a time of long ago my muscles
were not afraid to sow a little sweat.
Working at various jobs caused
muscles to grow into bragging rights
with trimming highway brush
dragging logs from Baie
Carriere to a waiting chain-boom
and working in the mine with a
variety of tasks---including laying track.
I remember those memory days
as I shuffle older legs to the supper table.
Today young bloods share tales
of tattoo symbols with pain expressed
into dollars and little sense
and I discovered through climbing
mountains in life beauty
is more like wild blossoms
with love spilling on the sidewalk
from each pressing step.

I like the step-change in
I like the step-change in stanza five and the juxtaposition again with the current trend of macho(not really the right word I know) exhibitionism of today's 'players' . A good poem and there's no doubt about it. Cherries; Yay!
