Three Children
They see
Nature unfold, her green
coat, firs as soldiers
silent and dark
the lake, a shining glow
across its surface, ripples
are fingers calling.
Below, anxious trout leap
at fallen flies
breaking surface with a
quiet splash.
Children watch, eyes
full of excitement,
hearts beating faster
a picture-scene, they love
the land. Their heritage.
