"Good morning, Mayor,"said the pretty blonde girl behind the
coffee-shop counter.
The mayor, who hadn't really been mayor for twenty years, was a dapper,
happy old man. He wore an elegant Armani suit and his gold watch had a
diamond for every hour marker. He walked with an ivory cane, the handle
of which was carved as a portrait of his now deceased daschsund.
"I'll have a Mexican Mocha, please," said the mayor, whose sky blue
eyes still shone like those a youthful aristocrat.
"That'll be three dollars," said the coffee girl.
"I don't feel like paying this morning," said the mayor, as he pulled
his cane handle out of his cane, revealing a beautiful ivory-handled
revolver. "This is a robbery."
"Here, I'll give you the money," said the shocked coffee girl, pulling
out a bag.
"That won't be necessary," replied the mayor. "I'll just take my
Mexican Mocha."
The whole staff of the trendy downtown coffeeshop was soon engaged in
making the perfect Mexican mocha. "One Mexican Mocha," called the
coffee girl.
"Why, thank you," said the mayor as he sipped his mocha. "It's a work
of art." He re-sheathed his revolver and lightly used his cane to seat
himself at a table by the window. It was a beautiful Fall day outside.
The wind danced with the dead leaves in the trees. The sky shone a
voluptous blue, augmenting the flavor of the Mexican Mocha.
