Underwater

When walking in the seabed I stood upon a Plaice,
Who grumbled at me bitterly, screwing up his face.
I apologised profusely, and trying to explain,
“It’s my first time under water I’m a novice at this game”.
I walked a little further and bumped into an eel,
Who had a crazy manner and a very slippery feel
He eyed me up and down and blew a silver bubble,
I didn’t stick around too long; I think that eel was trouble.
As I ventured on a sand bank I spied a lonely Cod,
Who asked me who I was and found it rather odd.
“A human under water” he laughed and shook his head,
“Isn’t there enough room for you on dry land” he said
The cod was rather bitter at my presence on the sand.
I offered my dilemma but he didn’t understand.
I told him I was wandering and now I’d lost my way.
“I have no time for wanderers” said the lonely cod, “good day”.
A spiney blue backed lobster then ventured from his hole,
And a dozen stripey mackerel swam round me in a shoal,
The Mackerel made me dizzy and the lobster nipped my toe,
“You’re not welcome here the lobster said, I think it’s best you go”
I swam towards the surface and the lobster released his grip.
I was running out of air for my under water trip.
Pleased to see the sky and fill my lungs with air.
And happy that I’d left those underwater creatures there.
