The service I attended this evening was based around the verse:
“What God has planned for people who love Him is more than eyes have seen or ears have heard. It has never even entered our minds.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
The man who was taking the service entitled it: “Live Life! Live the Passion!” He emphasized giving everything over to God and making sure that you “Don’t sleepwalk through life!”
I didn’t intend to sleepwalk at all, in fact I was planning the exact opposite, and I found it phenomenally comforting and inspiring that awesome things were about to unfold…I needed that faith-filled reassurance.

Hello there Shannan!!!
Life is mega hectic this week as I have been away for most of it! I am sure that you are also mega busy/stressed!!! I hope your sister’s wedding will be a lovely day!!! Will be thinking of you all!
About Easter – go for it! You make as many plans as you want to. We are thinking of doing something over Easter but have not decided exactly what. Its expensive so might end up in London. Definitely going to have a braai {barbeque} on either the Sat or Sun. I don’t want you to feel that you have to fit in with me on everything – it’s your big adventure and we will make it all work.
I am still waiting for your sim card to come through, but I will let you know your new number as soon as I get it. Also, your oyster card will be here when you arrive. I have also done some checking and there are some small theatre groups in the area – Round Table and Pinner Players that you might be interested in J
Everything will be fine – I do need to get some food in for us before you come so I want to know what you eat and don’t eat. I won’t get a lot in, but just basics.
Now, I know you are stressing and mega busy… but try to enjoy the day tomorrow and have fun with your family… and remember that your second ‘family’ are eagerly waiting for you on this side of the globe…
Love Jane
She was right. I was stressed and busy and everything seemed to be happening at once. When that happens I can only take it one day at a time, or I stress out and get sick and everything turns into a great big, uncontrollable mess. Thankfully it’s easier when I know that someone else is helping, and Jane was my light at the end of the plane trip!
The thought of moving in with Jane (we met back in high school and had maintained our intercontinental friendship over the years) and her landlady was stressing me out a little, because I wasn’t sure how much leeway Jane would give me with regards to my space and time. Would she feel obliged to spend time with me? Would her landlady? Would I be able to see other friends over the Easter weekend and during the days I was staying with her? Or would that be rude? Her email was a great relief, almost like she had read my mind and I was grateful that she seemed cool about whatever I needed; but I was worried about the cell-phone (British ‘mobile’) package she would choose and the costs involved. What are British call costs? I’d need a phone for the sim too… The ‘oyster card’ comments I wasn’t quite sure on. (What’s an ‘oyster card’ anyway?) But there really was no point in worrying about it because my sister’s wedding was less than 24 hours away and Jane was sorting out everything in London. I would have to get to London when I got to London. Right now I had to deal with making sure I prepared for the next day with spare make-up, towels for the beach photographs, checking times with everyone, tissues, needle and thread for any emergencies, helping Nats and doing all the other ‘maid of honour’s’ duties. Thank goodness for our bridesmaid’s pamper party beforehand. That was great!
