Forever Engaged
I’d like to live in engagement;
Engaged in your smile,
Engaged in your embrace,
Engaged with the twinkle in your eye,
Engaged with the thoughts
that clutter your mind.
Permanently engaged with you,
my only gentleman caller…
Holding on to the line
and never letting go;
as every morning
I’m blessed with your voice in my ear,
As we choose to continue our call
and be unavailable to anyone else.
The ring,
The answer:
Forever engaged.
Eternally choosing each other
Every single day.

Hi, Shannan. Mind you the course of true love never runs smooth as we are all so imperfect! I'm sure God has work for you with your insights and loving nature, while you long for that special person, and maybe he is preparing your character for the work of such an 'engagment'!
On another line, I was taken with the whole use you make of the word 'engaged' as it is still something I long for (and pray for) in the relationship I have with my mother-in-law whom I care for, and she is ever pleasant and appreciative, but somehow that 'engagement' of understanding is missing, and I miss it so.
