Modern Day Chivalry

Oh happy days, driving in the rain
When under a bridge I met a red light.
To my right, outside, I heard laughter arise,
From a group of men, awaiting a ride;
As one sole chap intriguingly strutted by,
All the while grinning at mockery's tide.
Umbrella in hand, lady beneath by his side
He kept with her stride, feeling like the chief.
The bashful woman a photo of disbelief.

His true intentions?
Only he knows
But I laughed too,
Maybe next time he'll have a rose ;-)
