One Gardener

One Gardener
He planted seeds of doubt in my mind.
I don’t think he could have comprehended
That my mind was such fertile ground.
The mind cannot separate
What’s real
and what’s not;
Whether dream or nightmare,
Truth or not,
It accepts it all.
He planted doubt in my strength,
Doubt in my attractiveness,
Doubt in my intuition,
Doubt in all of me;
The weeds of self-hate grew, despicably.
But, the thing is, you see,
Long before he came on the scene,
God planted His seeds in me.
Seeds of strength and hope,
Seeds of power and faith,
Seeds of love.
Although they lie dormant in winter seasons,
They flourish in spring.
Thus, each year the weeds of doubt
Are suffocated once again,
Depleting further each year,
Becoming fertilizer
For the Glorious Heavenly Garden
Where my Soul can find rest again,
As the roots of LOVE and comfort
Clutch and hold my heart in peace.
