Ancient Festival

Still is night under festive
Light, where brightly lit
Overhanging trees frame
Vision; carrying energetic
Rhythm.
Celebrate Winter Solstice,
Balanced nirvana of new
Beginnings taking shape;
Where anticipated longer
Days gradually linger,
Making their impact
Known...becoming
My muse; I'm kindled
By waxy flame, bathed
In familiar ambiance,
Awakening earth's resting
Pulse, eyes gleaming like
Jewels; in this squinting
Moment, remaining still.
Golden rays will slowly
Thread skies; bridging
Gaps of cold yawning
Air, festooning clouds
In flaming red; as Druids
Make their presence known.

Some lovely lights as we see the solstice pass. A happy time, but even better the celebration of the Ultimate Light coming, remembered at Christmas. I hope your holidays are peaceful and happy.
Puzzled as to why you bring the Druids into it! Rhiannon
