Everyone of Jonah's men looked on in disbelief, as
Jonah lay face down on the ground.
"It's okay!" said Addie, "he's just been stunned.
Now Gerth, will you come peacefully?"
Gerth now without his leader, didn't feel so confident. "Yeah okay, but one thing puzzles me,
how do you know our names?"
Addie looked at Gerth and smiled, "questions,
questions! all will be revealed in due course,
but for now, we need you to come peacefully with
us Gerth. I promise...we wish you no harm."
Gerth suddenly felt like a child again, no longer
in charge, his leader laying on the ground. He
couldn't understand what was going to happen to him.
Two of Addie's men picked Jonah up, Gerth thought
he looked so helpless...being carried.
As they walked towards the Ship, Gerth turned to
Addie and asked, "what is that light?"
"That my friend, will carry us up into the Ship,
we will take you aboard, but you will have no
knowledge of your past actions, when we bring you
and Jonah back, you will not even remember being on
the Ship, or anything about us. You will just wake
from a long sleep, feeling a bit groggy. But both
your attitudes will have changed, you will be all
the better for being programmed."
"So," said Gerth, "you won't mind explaining a few
things to me then?"
"As soon as we are on board the Ship, I will explain, as I have already said."
Gerth was not sure he liked the idea, of having his
memory erased, but they hadn't given him much choice.
They stood inside the beam of light and before he
could blink, Gerth found himself on board the Ship,
he'd never seen anything like it before. There were
no trees, no plants, infact it seemed pretty empty.
"Okay so now, tell me how you knew our names?"
enquired Gerth.
Addie told him to come over to one of the monitors.
Gerth looked at the screen, he could see all the
people on the ground, the trees of the forest
looked so vivid, he touched the screen, but didn't
understand. "Why can't I touch the trees, what is
this strange vision?"
Addie tried to explain to Gerth..."A monitor is a
piece of equipment that shows moving pictures of
your Earth, we can see you, going about your
buisness."
Addie told Gerth, that they had been monitoring
them from Obsidian, he also told Gerth that they
had records of every child that had been born...
and every person that died.
Gerth found that rather scarey, "so you see everything?"
"Well not everything," replied Addie, "but only
what we need to see. Look as I said before, we
wish you no harm. You and Jonah have caused a lot
of harm and pain to many people, all we wish to do,
is programme you."
Jonah was still unconscious, he had been layed out
on a metal table. Then Addie asked Gerth to lie on
another table. "Just lay still, you will be fine."
The next moment, he was being moved into a machine,
that made a humming noise. He wanted to get up and
run, but there wasn't anywhere to run too, he also
didn't want to be stunned, so he just lay there
feeling very scared.
As he entered the humming machine, he found himself
suddenly very tired, he started to drift off into a
sleep.
He was dreaming of flying through, what looked like
water, but it wasn't solid, there wasn't anything
to touch. Then he drifted again, it became dark, he
felt his body was weightless, he had never felt so
calm and relaxed, soon he fell into a deep, deep
sleep.

HI Jenny
Quite a kind way to treat miscreants - as long as it has a permanent effect, I suppose.
