Earthly Paradise

Never mind

chilly snow

and ice,

my thoughts

take me to

a tropical

paradise,

 

Where waterfall!

An oasis

seeks to

refresh

in pools

of enchantment,

 

embracing, invigorating

purity of clear skin –

water vibrating...

bouncing off surface,

displaying flamboyant

lavish cascade,

 

to stand beneath

this imposing power

launching from great heights,

that tinges this demanding

sultry atmosphere,

as rainbow of colours

connects each drop,

 

then...graceful curtain at end of day

when golden rays turn out their lights,

and moonlight basks in cloudless sky

a velvety black...sequined only by stars

that seem to harbour this earthly delight.

an earthly delight. but then again, my thoughts always go to the poor buggers sleeping outside. Sorry for the gripe and side-issue.

lots of luxurious images !

We have just been watching people in Chicago throwing up saucepans full of boiling water and it turning into like an ice cloud and blowing away, your poem shows how water can be utterly different. "Lavish cascade" is great

Hi Jack,

I know what you mean about the homeless, it's very sad that people are having to suffer, I honestly don't know how they survive in these conditions. We can only hope that there is help for them.

I appreciate you reading and It's good that you mentioned those less well off. May they find warmth and comfort is all I wish for them.

I'm so glad I could take you away from the cold if only for a quick read Di. It's good of you to leave such a nice comment which I always appreciate.

I saw the ice clouds with the boiling water on the news. They are suffering so much worse than us over there. Can't imagine such low temperatures, it seems too unbearable to imagine.

I'm glad you liked my cascade, I thought of it while I was in the shower, would you believe!

exotic and velvety.. I am drawn into this luxurious scenery, can feel the heat in my icy fingers just having built a huge snowman....thank you for warming me up with this delight!
