England's Harmony

I'll miss energy of Winter's
bracing cold winds sweeping
away cobwebs from summer's
heatwave, bundled up warmly;
off for a stroll in afternoon sun.
My willing attention drawn
to rough crack of dead twigs
on boughs; as sparrows and
blue tits hop from branch to
branch – enjoying that time
before earth awakes, tiny
steps is all it takes...
there's no rush as torpid
hedgehog's dreaming, then
in spring silently emerging,
bide time little one; let not
impatience be your guide.
When as a child I'd slip
under spring's blue sky,
encouraged by awakening
to a world of luminosity in
woodland enchantment –
now elderly taking pleasure
in the yawning promise of
open daffodils, followed by
delicate kiss from tulips,
before venturing between
trees; where verdant colours
reveal textures brushing
fingertips.
Pink blossom will once again
incorporate blush where there's
blue and green, those bees heard
buzzing...while not always seen,
for we are blessed with England's
harmony; on that we faithfully glean.

Enjoying the waiting time,
Enjoying the waiting time, with its bracing cold, and the memories and anticipation of the colourful world opening up again! and hopefully encouraging others to do so! Rhiannon

We certainly are blessed,
We certainly are blessed, Jenny. Sometimes I wonder why we go to such lengths to make our own entertainment when all thise is just outside, it's a shame many children don't have much access to nature and this world in luminosity.

I'm looking forward to that "
I'm looking forward to that ".. delicate kiss from tulips". Spring is definitely in the air as winter fades. Eloquently said, of course. Just lovely. Paul
