Back at the Camp, the first of the rains in along
time had arrived, it seemed the clouds had been
building for most of the day. The children were
having great fun, running and chasing each other in
the cool rain of the late afternoon.
Amadahy however, was not feeling so happy, she hadn't thought that Two Feathers would be gone for so long, she suspected the worst.
She could not concentrate on anything, so she
decided to go and speak with her neighbour and
friend Chumani, about her worries, she knew Chumani
was a good listener.
When she reached their lodge, Amadahy pushed the
flap back to the entrance of their lodge. Chumani
was busy making supper, Crazy Horse was busy making
arrow heads. "Are you busy Chumani?" she enquired.
"I'm only making supper, come in Amadahy." She
walked in and smiled at Crazy Horse, but he was not
exactly happy to see her, but gave a false grin,
then carried on with what he was doing.
As Amadahy sat down by the fire, opposite her friend, she started to explain about Red Deer's
disappearance and how Two Feathers had gone off in
search of the boy.
Crazy Horse was all ears, listening to every word,
he started to feel worried at the thought of being
found out, then he decided he would need to speak
with Floating Cloud. But for now, he would carry on
with what he was doing. The smell of the cooking was making him feel ravenous.
"Will you join us for some food?" enquired Chumani.
"That would be nice." Amadahy put her face down and
started to sob, she was so worried that something
was wrong.
Straight away Chumani got up and walked over to her
neighbour, "Oh! Amadahy I'm sure Two Feathers will
be fine, we all know he has been gone for days...
when out hunting." She put her arm around her friend's shoulder.
"Yes but he's not hunting this time...and I have a
bad feeling, if only I knew where he'd gone, it
would be easier to cope with."
"Come," said Chumani, "let us eat and then we can
talk some more. You can stay here tonight, I'll
make up a bed for you."
"Thankyou!" replied Amadahy, relieved to have such
a good friend, but Crazy Horse wasn't so happy, he
decided he would be out for the rest of the evening, after he'd eaten supper.
