HEAVEN SPREADS.
sneak
Windscreen wipers hold me captive.
Hypnotic left hypnotic right.
My breathing awkwardly controlled,
my skin a deathly shade of white.
Shattered glass reflects around me,
the shimmering of falling stars.
Heaven spreads its clouded blanket -
in the wreckage of our cars.
The music blaring from the speakers -
seems inappropriate in tone.
DJ's make light conversation -
as our world is overthrown.
Consciousness is overbearing.
There's little comfort in alarms.
The sirens wail is unforgiving,
just like the void between these arms.
You never spoke you never murmured,
a marbled statue by my side.
As long as I complied with silence,
there was a chance that death had lied.
Now every breath that's forced upon me -
is just a chance I won't pursue.
Coma dragged me from your presence.
They fight to keep me without you.
I long to be within our wreckage.
Cocooned in mangled sheets of rust.
For time will fade these black mementos,
as flowers crumble in to dust.
