A SCENE OF CRIME VALENTINE.
sneak.
Will you be my valentine?
Will you cover me in you?
Will you take my cold extremities -
and show me what to do?
Will you give me something to regret?
Will you tear my world apart?
Will you leave me for a teenager -
with a reconditioned heart?
The latest millennium version.
With a voice that's yet to break.
A coca cola six pack.
A sugar free mistake.
A skateboarding evangelist -
that preaches bubble gum.
A carbon copy nobody -
who's work is never done.
A toy-boy for all seasons.
His youth you'll hide behind.
He'll moisturise your ego,
but time has not been kind.
You run from deaths advancing touch.
I revel in his view.
I flirt with eyes that I've worn out -
on scenes portraying you.
Happy in my heartbreak way -
that valentines are none.
Touched by your disinterest.
So hopeful now you're gone.
I close my eyes and dream away.
Another tick is tocked.
Openly I waste away -
while you remain unlocked.
Time, the healer, we are told -
will render us in youth.
The after-life, if such exists,
my past will be my proof.
My every wrinkle tells a tale.
My every scar and bruise,
a testament to my great life.
Without you I can't lose.
