I lay down and wrote myself a letter

I'm glad I've done what I've done.

I like who I've become.

And I give thanks for being me.

With or without you,

I will be true.

You sent me late a rosy wreath.

No worries, I always knew

you had to leave.

I've been my own hero long time, 

alone, and thriving.

And now, I am more

than merely surviving,
