Called to silks, my ashen face
doth welcome now this fowls' embrace.
Life championed by a shallow breath
in sheeny fear, half glimpses death
Painful memory is enhanced;
a younger gladiator danced
to music from a bygone age,
he taps his toes in mocking rage.
Didst I but live, too die like this;
a wheezing wreck, to plagued to kiss.
Why didst that gladiator flee
and exiled, pine in history
The juries' seats are all but filled;
their fallow fields no longer tilled
and Caesar sits, with thorny crown,
his thumb not raised but not yet down

It sure is a nasty business
It sure is a nasty business - lots of fluids and sleep and you'll feel better in a couple of weeks. Best of luck!

This is a beautiful poem
This is a beautiful poem probably wasn't meant to be but you have a way with words! Hope you feel better soon!
Love the lines that Magic highlighted;
'The juries' seats are all but filled;
their fallow fields no longer tilled
and Caesar sits, with thorny crown,
his thumb not raised but not yet down.'
