An Academic Study Concerning the Organic Composition of Our Love

If I employed a team of scientists
to take their sharpest scalpel
and slice our love precisely
through the middle,
to closely examine
any given cross- section,
what empirical truths
would their study conclude?

I fear they would find nothing.

Or rather, the single useful thing
they might discover
is the understanding
that this mystery
is something
knowledge could never uncover.
